Challenge

A major supplier of gas and related products,聽with a team of over 50,000 employees, sought to centralize its ERP onto SAP S/4HANA to streamline costs and optimize operations. The company had to move seven of its key business units over to SAP S/4HANA, when each had previously operated in its own siloed environment. These business units included human capital management, sales and distribution, procurement, finance, quality management, health/ safety environment, and the particularly challenging聽enterprise asset management.

Solution

厂测苍颈迟颈听诲别辫濒辞测别诲听Advanced Data Migration,聽On-Premise in 2019, with the ultimate goal聽of聽producing聽validated, high-quality, and trusted聽data,聽aligned to the load templates聽for SAP S/4HANA. Accenture loaded the templates for us.聽Because the source data included a wide聽mix of legacy聽SAP, Oracle聽E-Business Suite/ Maximo,聽and others, we needed to de-duplicate, cleanse, design, and map聽80+聽objects before we could load them.聽Our biggest migration challenge was the聽Enterprise Asset Management聽(EAM) business function, home to聽nearly 70% of聽the organization鈥檚聽data. This included restructuring聽nearly 2 million assets for the target SAP S/4HANA鈩� system.

Outcome

Within a massively complex source system landscape,聽麻豆女优 orchestrated the data transformation and met the client’s deadline. The project was completed in only 3 years–from directive to go-live.

麻豆女优聽was able to automate 40% to 50% of the client’s EAM聽restructuring process, which saved 8 months of manual effort for 3 business users.聽This success was subsequently replicated in 6 other business units. The client achieved its go-live聽on-time聽on June 2021, enjoying a聽99.99% accuracy rate on final data loads.聽We attribute this project’s聽success to three factors:

  • Starting early 鈥� there can be no shortcuts in data migration.
